March at a glance

The months seem to go by so fast and I feel like I hardly ever have time to blog. So sorry but this is the whole last month at a glance. We always try and find fun things to do with the kids rather it be at home or out somewhere but we enjoy keeping them busy.

This is Ashlyn at the ward talent show, for her talent she played the piano with Grammy. Both kids are learning to play the piano from Grammy right now.

Next Aunt Katie was in town and was doing hair for everyone so she decided to include Ryker. This is a picture of him getting his tips bleached-it really was cute.

The kids love being outside in the yard right now. They get paid .03 for every orange they pick up-I know you might laugh 3 cents an orange but they have made some major money off of it, also, here is a picture of Ryker with the worm he caught.

We took the kids to Lehi Days with Uncle Ryan, Kessa, & Grady. Lehi Days is a fun and free little rodeo/carnival. They had fun on the horse rides and holding the little pets at the petting zoo.

Since both kids were out of school on St. Patricks Day I tried to be creative. We had green pancakes, green eggs, bacon and I even tried to make the choc. milk green. We also had green Kool-aid and green macaroni and cheese for lunch, and on the dinner menu even though I don't have pictures was green mashed potatoes and gravy with turkey and for our drink we had Sprite with Lime sherbet in it. We also had fun decorating shamrocks for the dinner table decorations that night.

The kids also got to go to the zoo on their week off and they had their first swim lessons-which they loved.

Kids Aprons

I don't claim to be a crafty person-but I do aspire to be one. This project isn't bad for the first time ever sewing something on a sewing machine. I have always wanted to make these aprons because I think they are so cute but didn't know how to use my sewing machine. The other day my mother in law Peggy said I want to make some kids aprons and I said me too! We went to the store and Ashlyn and Ryker picked out the fabric that they liked, Peggy cut the patterns out and I sewed everything together-YES all by myself, not to mention I had to do 8 of them so all the cousins could have one too! Here are some pictures.

Fun memories

We have a had some fun cheap memorable times the past 2 months, below are just a few of them. I love Peter and my kids so much and I am so thankful for the happiness and laughter they bring to me.

We also have a little mountain close by that we like to go on a hike with our little family. Once we get to the top we get to enjoy some nice Arizona oranges. It is always nice to get some exercise in the fresh air while the weather is so nice.
(Ashlyn decided while on the hike it would be fun to go rock climbing. In the first top picture she just went for it and almost got to the top when she lost her footing and fell completely down the mountain. After she got over being hurt and her disappointment of not quite making it she got the idea to use the rope we had in our camelback. So Peter hiked to the top threw the rope down and she made it up. Once she made it up I was shocked and nervouse that Ryker wanted to try-but he tried it and he made it. It was a lot of fun.)

We have a really nice guy in our ward who has been promising Ashlyn a ride in his car. Last Sunday he pulled up, honked the horn and she ran out the door.

Saturday we were working hard out in the yard moving dirt and rocks back and forth and Peter was nice enough to give the kids a wheelbarrow rides each time the wheelbarrow got emptied. They loved it.

Funny Conversation

So I picked Ashlyn up from school the other day and this is the conversation we had.

Me: Hi Ash, how was school today?

Ash: It was good. I was talking to Lance about cars today and he told me that his dad is going to buy him a red Ferrari.

Me: Oh yeah, that is cool.

Ash: Yep, I told him that my dad is buying me either a Corvette or a Camaro.

I just had to laugh, why is my 5 year old little girl talking to boys about cars?

Christmas 2008

We had Christmas with Grammy and Papa this year(we just barely moved into their house with them for the time being). We had a great christmas. The BIG present of the year from Santa was you both got brand new bikes. Ashlyn also got some littlest pet shop toys and a bunk bed for her babies. Ryker also got a new Corvette to play with and some Power Ranger toys.

December

It has been a month since the last post and a lot has gone on. We finally got all moved into the house and two days after we moved we turned around and packed up for a fun vacation to Utah. We had a great time in Utah with family and friends as we celebrated Thanksgiving, my birthday, Ashlyn's birthday and my little nephew Jackson's birthday, not to mention the best day ever for shopping(the day after Thanksgiving) which me and my sister Katie had a blast doing, unfortunately we do not have many pictures of our vacation, but we are very thankful that we got to go. After vacation Ashlyn had her first Christmas program with her school, I know I am a little partial but the Kindergarteners were the highlight of the night. We have also wrote our letters to Santa. And just this last Friday the 19th we celebrated Ashlyn's 5th birthday with a party which included 15 five and six year olds(a little crazy but it went better than expected).

Ashlyn's Christmas Program

This is Ashlyn saying her part.

I made myself a snowball as perfect as can be,

I thought I'd keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me,

I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it's head

then last night it ran away,

but first it wet the bed.

After they said their poems they sang Let it snow and Jingle bell rock. Jingle Bell Rock was the hit of the night, they got to wear their Santa hats and put on their sunglasses and they danced as they sang. I have to admit I loved every minute of it.

Santa Letters

This is Peter and the kids writing their letters to Santa a couple of weeks ago. It was so cute, they were so excited. You can clearly tell by Ashlyn's pictures exactly what she wants, Ryker's however is a little harder to tell but I am sure that Santa still understands it. After we wrote the letters we burned them in the fire so that the smoke from the letters would burn up the chimney and travel to the North Pole so that Santa could read them.

Utah Birthday Celebration

Friday Dec. 19th-Happy Birthday Ashlyn!

We had quite the party for our 5 year old! We invited all 17 kids from her Kindergarten class and a few kids from our old ward. First we ate some pizza. Next we played a little game of horseshoes and played until everyone could win a prize and last we played pin the tail on the donkey. After that we opened presents, sang Happy Birthday, and ate some cake. Overall it was a great time and it couldn't have gone any better considering the amount of kids we had here. We were also lucky to have her teacher Ms. Shasta come celebrate with us-she was a real tropper and stayed the whole time. She was spoiled by her friends and we are so thankful for all our friends and family who helped us celebrate.
