Mud Bath!

It is so nice to finally have a backyard that has grass. It was a hot day and the kids had nothing to do so I turned on the sprinkler out back for them to run through. We are slowly getting all the grass in and as you can tell there are still some bare spots that got muddy. The kids decided to have a mud fight-they looked so darn cute that I had to get the camera.

Springtime Wilderness Hikes

This year we found a mountain right around the corner from us to hike. It is called Silly Mountain. We went on several hikes here this Spring and we always had so much fun. Beautiful weather and beautiful desert scenery.

Boys will be boys

This is what happens when you fall out of an orange tree at grandma's house! Luckily this was all that happened and thankfully nothing was broken!

Ashlyn looses her first tooth

Finally at 6 1/2 years old Ashlyn looses her first tooth. This was so exciting as almost all of her friends started loosing their teeth a year ago-she can FINALLY show them all that she lost her tooth. Even more exciting the Tooth Fairy came!

Goldfield Ghost Town

Back in the 1890's Goldfield boasted 3 saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market and a school house. Just when it looked like the town would outgrow Mesa, the vein faulted, the grade of ore dropped and the town died a slow painful death. After several unsuccessful attempts to reopen the mines, the town did come to life again from 1910 on and off until 1926.

We were lucky enough to get to go visit the Ghost Town with the Eggleston family. It was very informative and we had a great time. The kids absolutely loved being with cousins.

This is a picture of the mine that made the town rich, once it dried up is when everyone left the town and it was then known as the goldfield Ghost Town, people continued to try to get more gold out of it but all they got was water, eventually it was cemented over for safety reasons.

Trip to World Wildlife Zoo and Aquarium

This is one of the coolest zoo's I have ever been too. It is out in the middle of nowhere but the way they have it set up is neat, you can practically walk right up next to the animals. We were lucky enough to go with our good friends Jack and Karla.

The Jabberwocky

This nice thing about having your own blog is the fact that you can brag about your kids so that in the future they will be able to look back and know how loved they are. This is a poem that Ashlyn had to memorize, she is currently a 1st grader. I am amazed that she could remember every last word of it and we have her on the video camera acting the poem out.

Jabberwocky

New Years In Vegas

We decided to have a last minute get away for New Year's Eve this year and luckily some of our best friends Ashley and Todd Stutznegger were able to join us. It was a short trip but we had such a great time. The people watching that night was absolutely amazing! The fireworks at midnight were awesome. There were so many people there that once the countdown was over you couldn't barely move to get off the strip and back to the car.
